Q & A 21 – Should women work?

Good day everyone,

Today we have a very interesting Question with regards to women who are working as men.  You will find that today women are able to do welding of heavy machinery, they have driving skills as good as men; they can handle heavy equipment; they can sing or dance just like men… the question remains – no matter what kind of job a women is doing, the can do it.

But the question is not is they can do it, because we know they can – the question is: What does the Bible say, should women work or not?

QUESTION?

According to the Word of God – Are women allowed to work; or are they supposed to work?

ANSWER:

Yes, according to the Bible, women are allowed to work, they are supposed to help their family in any good way they can, with regards to working for remuneration  In the Word of God, we find there are scriptures that teach us, that God expects a good virtuous women to work in order for her to look after her family and help the husband.  In Proverbs 31, the following scriptures….

Pro 31:10 A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman–who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls. [Prov. 12:4; 18:22; 19:14.]
Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of [honest] gain or need of [dishonest] spoil.
Pro 31:12 She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her.
Pro 31:13 She seeks out wool and flax and works with willing hands [to develop it].
Pro 31:14 She is like the merchant ships loaded with foodstuffs; she brings her household’s food from a far [country].
Pro 31:15 She rises while it is yet night and gets [spiritual] food for her household and assigns her maids their tasks. [Job 23:12.]
Pro 31:16 She considers a [new] field before she buys or accepts it [expanding prudently and not courting neglect of her present duties by assuming other duties]; with her savings [of time and strength] she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard. [S. of Sol. 8:12.]
Pro 31:17 She girds herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] and makes her arms strong and firm.
Pro 31:18 She tastes and sees that her gain from work [with and for God] is good; her lamp goes not out, but it burns on continually through the night [of trouble, privation, or sorrow, warning away fear, doubt, and distrust].
Pro 31:19 She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
Pro 31:20 She opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy [whether in body, mind, or spirit].
Pro 31:21 She fears not the snow for her family, for all her household are doubly clothed in scarlet. [Josh. 2:18, 19; Heb. 9:19-22.]
Pro 31:22 She makes for herself coverlets, cushions, and rugs of tapestry. Her clothing is of linen, pure and fine, and of purple [such as that of which the clothing of the priests and the hallowed cloths of the temple were made]. [Isa. 61:10; I Tim. 2:9; Rev. 3:5; 19:8, 14.]
Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the [city’s] gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. [Prov. 12:4.]
Pro 31:24 She makes fine linen garments and leads others to buy them; she delivers to the merchants girdles [or sashes that free one up for service].
Pro 31:25 Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future [the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it]!
Pro 31:26 She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction].
Pro 31:27 She looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness (gossip, discontent, and self-pity) she will not eat. [I Tim. 5:14; Tit. 2:5.]

If you read the above scriptures very slowly, and study them, it absolutely tells us that women must work, so that they can provide for their family.  Can you imagine int he olden times, if women did not work, and they had three children.  What is the husband went to war and she was left alone with the three children…. if she did not work to get money to buy food, they would have all died…. so YES, absolutely, this chapter in Proverbs teach us that women should work!

Q & A 19 – Names of God

QUESTION: Frik.

Please tell me where i can find all the different Names of God instead of having to go and look for it in the Bible?

ANSWER: Ps. Nomsa

Good day Frik,

Thank you for your question.  Personally i do believe that if one does a study on a specific topic, then you will learn it by yourself and you will never forget the things that you studied.

Instead to receive all the answers from someone else who has already done the study, it’s like second hand knowledge, and you are being spoon-fed.  I do not mean this in a bad way, but i truly think it is much more fun and exciting to study God’s Word on your own with regards to the Topics you are asking questions about.  I have found in the last few years that if i do it this way, i tend to remember them better.

Nevertheless, if you have the Internet you can just type in “Names of God” and you will get a lot of information on this Topic.

Alternatively you can by the “Names of God Bible” which i found very interesting, and it is now part of my Bible Collection.  It gives the whole Bible with the Hebrew names in the verses, and it is really interesting to read such a Bible of God’s Word.

I hope this has answered your question in this regard,

Shalom

DEEP REVELAITONS 38A – LIGHT

TEACHING 38 A – LIGHT

Today we start a series of Teachings about “LIGHT”…     Who or What is LIGHT?

There are more than 230 scriptures in God’s Word about LIGHT.  This tells me that LIGHT is very important for our Survival, not just in the natural world, but also in the Supernatural World.

We start this Teaching right in the beginning of God’s Word in the Old testament (Agreement), and we are going to talk about the “CREATIVE AGES”.

The original Creation was made perfect and inhabited – Isa 45:18

Isa 45:18 For thus says the Lord-Who created the heavens, God Himself, Who formed the earth and made it, Who established it and did not create it to be a worthless waste; He formed it to be inhabited–I am the Lord, and there is no one else.

FORMED = Shaped, moulded, fashioned, designed, cut, made, bent, twisted.

MADE = Completed, ended, finished, through, ready, prepared

ESTABLISHED = recognized, well-known, traditional, conventional, customary, time-honored

CREATED = shaped, bent, fashioned, twisted, formed, produced, made, generated

For the Bible students, the word Create in Hebrew is “Bara”; and the word MADE in Hebrew is “Asa”.

So we see there are 3 different ways in which the Creation is explained in God’s Word:

He made certain stuff to do certain things; He established it; and He created it.

There are also many different reasons as to why God did it:

  1. He created the earth NOT TO BE a worthless waste;
  2. He formed it to be inhabited;
  3. He created it for Him and us – so that we can reign and rule here on earth.

Look at:

2 Pet 3:5 For they willfully overlook and forget this [fact], that the heavens [came into] existence long ago by the word of God, and the earth also which was formed out of water and by means of water,

2 Pet 3:6 Through which the world that then [existed] was deluged with water and perished.

2Pe 3:7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been stored up (reserved) for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly people.

[Psa 91:8 with your eyes you will see the destruction of the wicked]

But let us get back to the LIGHT.

Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

Jesus is the LIGHT – Jesus say: “I am the LIGHT of the world…”

  • John 1:5 The LIGHT shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
  • John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again He said: I am the LIGHT of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the LIGHT of LIFE.
  • Joh 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the world’s Light.
  • John 12:35-37 Jesus; you will have the LIGHT just a little while longer… walk while you have the LIGHT, before darkness overtakes you…NB – Believe in the LIGHT while you have the LIGHT, so that you may become children of LIGHT…
  • 1 John 1:5-9 …..message: GOD is LIGHT, in Him there is no darkness at all. … if we walk in the LIGHT as He is in the Light, we have fellowship….
  • 1 John 5:5-10 Walk in the LIGHT as I am in the LIGHT….

Q & A 14 – Famine and Cannibalism

QUESTION:  What does God’s Word say about FAMINE AND CANNIBALISM?

ANSWER: Hi Terry, herewith something for you to think about. Shalom.

2 Ki 6:29 So we boiled my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, Give your son so we may eat him, but she had hidden her son.

Lam 4:10 The hands of [heretofore] compassionate women have boiled their own children; they were their food during the destruction of the daughter of my people [Judah].

Deu 28:33 A nation which you have not known shall eat up the fruit of your land and of all your labors, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually, V57 Her afterbirth that comes out from her body and the children whom she shall bear. For she will eat them secretly for want of anything else in the siege and distress with which your enemies shall distress you in your towns.

It sounds almost inhuman to think that you eat your own children to stay physically alive, but from the previous verses we can clearly see that it happened in ancient biblical times that parents ate their children. I also believe that in the period of a famine the elderly who were very old (and was ready to die), were killed so that they can be eaten. These people were cannibals.

More than that even, the Bible says that their children will be eaten (Leviticus 26:27-29, Deuteronomy 28:53-57; Lam. 4:10, Zech 11:9). To eat your children was one of the greatest sins, and seen as the strictest punishment for sins. By eating children, the life is taken that was given by birth and they saw it as “Reversal of life.” For the Israelites it would have been terrible if there were no children around for the continuation of the nation – their survival depended on how many children they could have. (Genesis 4:20, 10:21, 17:4-16, 19:30-38, 25:12-18, 36:9, Exodus 1:5, Ruth 4:18-22, 1 Chronicles 2-8; Matthew 1:1-17).

The act of one person who eats the flesh of another human is called cannibalism. Cannibalism comes from the Spanish name (Caníbales / cannibalize) from the “Carib tribes”. It is a West Indian tribe that was well known for their participation in cannibalism. They assume that meat is the same as a fruit. So they believe that if you can eat fruit, you can eat meat because it’s just another form of food for them. A person who eats another person is called a “Cannibal”. The scientific name for cannibalism is “Anthropophagi”.

The idea to eat others of its own species probably originated because people watched animals. In the animal kingdom there are certain species that eat their own kind (like spiders); especially the female will sometimes consume the male after they have mated. So people saw this action as a way to have food and decided to do the same.

Cannibalism was widespread throughout the world and continued until about the nineteenth century, especially in some South Pacific cultures. Today the practice of cannibalism in Africa is still very high. The island “Fiji” was once known as the island of Cannibalism. In Melanesia there are even market have fresh human flesh available for sale. Other parts of the world where cannibalism flourished is the Amazon; Congo, Liberia and Māori island of New Zealand. “Korowai tribe” in the Congo is one of the few tribes who today recognize that they are cannibalistic. In our contemporary life a number of cases were documented where survivors of a plane crash in the desert devoured their peers to survive. In Such a case the aircraft fell in Urugua (“Air Force flight 571”) there were some survivors ate the other “dead” in order to stay alive. Even in many other modern areas where there is famine, cannibalism is acceptable.

Other cases of cannibalism are the soul-deranged people who believe they must eat human flesh, like Jeffrey Dahmer and Albert Fish. They are classified as “mentally disturbed” after they have eaten a few people. Cannibalism is also widely found in Art Works.

In the New Testament Jesus gives guidance in this regard, however; we must remember that we are “spirits” (John 4:24) God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).Luk 4: 4 “And Jesus replied to him, It is written, Man shall not live and be sustained by (on) bread alone but by every word and expression of God..

Personally, I think it’s against God’s principles that one person eats another. God created us as his best creation (in His Image and Likeness) – how will he allow people to devour each other. It just does not fit in with God’s character. Cannibalism in my opinion is totally unacceptable. I believe that if someone ever come into a situation where they have to decide to eat someone or to die of hunger, I believe it’s better to put you relationship right with God, and to make sure that your will live forever than to pollute the Temple of God with flesh of another human been. It is also one of the reasons why vegetarians do not eat meat of animals (because it is God’s creation). There are other groups that “Fruitarians” who believe that fruit trees may not be picked (because it is regarded as “murder”). They believe you can only eat fruit that fell from the tree onto the ground. If they eat at someone who dishes up “fried carrots,” they will believe that the carrots were “tortured and killed”. Well, what can i say?   …

I hope this answered your question?  Shalom.
